Whitecaps Add Pair of Pitchers
The Storm Lake Whitecaps are proud to announce the signing of pitchers Lucas Chapman and Tanner Knapp of Seattle University.
Chapman, a freshman from Seattle, has made five appearances this season for the Redhawks and has a team leading ERA of 2.08. He has allowed just two runs in eight innings of work. Chapman has struck out four this season and his opponent’s batting average sits at .258. The right-hander was a one-year letter winner at Mercer Island High School. He has three siblings and is majoring in accounting.
Knapp, a freshman from Milton, Washington, has made six appearances on the year for Seattle University, notching 4.1 innings of work. At Fife High School, Knapp was a four-year letter winner while his team won their league championship all four years. He was named second team All-SPSL shortstop in 2014 and was all named first team All-SPSL pitcher in 2015. Knapp saved his best season for his senior year as he was named SPSL League MVP and was a first team All-State pitcher. In addition to his accomplishments on the diamond, Knapp was a four-year letter winner in football and a two-year letter winner in wrestling.
The Whitecaps are excited for Lucas and Tanner to come to Storm Lake for the 2017 season.
